What is an adapter ring?
How do I know if I need one? Almost every car model has a different socket for mounting halogen bulbs. If you are upgrading from halogen lamps to LED, you may need an adapter ring to install the LED lamps in the headlamp. Each Philips LED retrofit lamp already comes with a type A adapter ring. This is usually sufficient for most vehicle models. However, a special adapter ring is required for some car models. To find out whether this is the case for your car, read our compatibility list at

What is a LED CANBus adapter?
When you convert your vehicle's lamps from halogen to LED, some vehicle models may experience challenges, such as a warning message on the dashboard. However, such a warning message does not necessarily mean that the LED lamp itself is defective. Rather, your vehicle's failure detection system recognizes the lower power consumption of the LED as an erroneous defect in the lamp.
